Repair Results
All supported shape representations are checked, including ShapeAspect and layer-assigned representations.
Check these elements in the source model before you repair
What is wrongThese elements contain 3D shapes with no surfaces at all (an empty IfcClosedShell). They show nothing in any viewer, but they break the IFC rules. The CORENET X portal rejects the file with error IFC0000104: IfcClosedShell.CfsFaces must not be empty.
What the repair doesIt deletes only the empty shapes. The element itself stays in the file with its name, element ID, properties and level. If all of an element's shapes were empty, the element keeps its data but has no 3D shape afterwards. It had nothing visible before either.
What you should checkFind each element in your authoring software by its element ID or GlobalId (in Revit: Manage › Select by ID). Make sure it is not something that must be seen as a 3D object in your submission. If it should have a real shape, fix the element in the source model and export the IFC again instead of using this repair.

Missing geometry context (ContextOfItems)
What is wrongEach shape in an IFC file must say which view it belongs to: the 3D model (Body) or the 2D plan outline (FootPrint). These shapes are missing that link, so the portal's IFC schema check rejects the file with error IFC0000104: IfcShapeRepresentation.ContextOfItems is required.
What the repair doesIt adds the missing link to the model's only matching context. Nothing is deleted and no shape is changed, so no check in the source model is needed. A row marked "(type)" is a type object: the fix applies to every placed instance of that type.

Areas without geometry (IfcSpace): fix these in the source model
What is wrongThese IfcSpace objects (rooms, spaces and areas) were exported with no shape at all (Representation = $).
Why they have no geometryThe Why no geometry column reads the area and height exported for each space (Qto_SpaceBaseQuantities). Has area, but no 3D shape was exported means the room is placed and enclosed, but its boundary could not be turned into a 3D shape, usually because of very short or overlapping boundary lines, thin slivers or narrow gaps. Area is 0 means it is not enclosed or is redundant.
Why the tool does not change themThe IFC file has no correct outline for these spaces, so there is no shape to add. They stay unchanged in the repaired IFC. This list is for reference only.
What you should doDownload the areas report. For each row, find the room or area in your authoring software by its element ID or GUID (in Revit: Manage › Select by ID), and fix it as the report says. Then export the IFC again.

Repaired IFC ZIP ready
- Only the planned edits were made: missing
IfcShapeRepresentation.ContextOfItemsvalues were filled, and emptyIfcClosedShellgeometry was removed together with the references to it. - No element was deleted. An element whose only geometry was empty keeps its data with
Representation = $. - The original IFC remains unchanged. Check the repaired files before submission (see the disclaimer at the bottom of the page).
- The ZIP also contains the Areas without geometry report (Excel). It lists each area with no shape, why it has none, and how to fix it in the source model.
- No file was uploaded or transmitted by this application.
